Gray Matters is a newsletter created and distributed by Victoria M. Young, lawyer and elder care advocate.

Two decades of experience working with vulnerable clients has made clear the need for advocacy services to speak for our elders.  Even within supportive family structures it is easy to get lost in the volumes of information publicly available but time-consuming to collect and digest.  More often than not, caregivers or supporters looking for advice are the children of elders, members of the sandwich generation, who are also raising children and working full time.  Even more prevalent is the caregiver who is no longer trusted by the elder.  We focus on getting the life care and decision making issues under control.  When a change in home care or a move to assisted living is needed, the best interests of the elder must be protected and respect for his or her wishes must be ensured.
